Mickala Parsley

I’m Mickala Parsley, a Clinical Registered Dietitian Nutritionist that believes healthy eating can be realistic and simple.

My journey as a social media foodie started back in 2018 while I was finishing my dietetic internship and masters program at Ball State University. I had so much fun with the research and creative process that went into running the platform that it continued to expand organically, leading to brand partnerships that once felt like a dream!

The nutritional realm on the internet is like the wild, wild west. Healthy eating does not have to be complicated, time-consuming, or expensive.

It’s super important to consider receiving nutritional information from trusted sources, such as trained professionals who promote evidence-based information and practices when it comes to food.

While Sea Salt and Kale is my 5-9, in my 9-5 I work with home care enteral services providing tube feeding education and support for both children and adults. Prior to this role, I served as an oncology dietitian, supporting patients undergoing radiation and chemotherapy. My passion for oncology nutrition started in college with my philanthropic work with Camp Kesem and my mom’s diagnosis of Stage 3 colorectal cancer. In my personal and professional lives, I’ve seen firsthand how nutrition can play a pivotal role before, during, and after a chronic disease diagnosis.

It’s my greatest mission to encourage more vibrant lifestyles through healthy eating to prevent chronic disease. There is nothing more powerful than being in control of your health!
